Minutes for the meeting of the Kernow Hang gliding and Paragliding Association held at St Rumon’s Social Club on Thursday 8th March 2012
Welcome Chairman Steve welcomed 18 members attending and opened the meeting at 8.05

Minutes of last meeting. Steve Mcilduff reminded the Sec that the Feb minutes omitted to mention that Mike had spoken to a non-member about the need to wear a helmet & Adie had been advised not to fly tandem with an unqualified pilot for safety & insurance purposes, the Chairman has details. Amended minutes proposed by Steve M, seconded by Tim J

Competitions: Brass Monkeys has been moved to 24/25 March
Club flying: Lots of flying again at many of the sites during the month, Chapel Porth on day of meeting, Hayle Towans, High Cliff for Andy Rogers and Graham Austin, Perran Sands

Perran Sands parking permits Thanks and well done to Kaz for negotiating a £25 discount
Ideas for updating the Sites Guides Andy Rogers submitted a new graphic layout which the membership decided didn’t quite work out. Thanks to Andy for taking the time & trouble, back to the drawing board.
Social function Pete Coad will organise a venue for the near future on a Friday.
Next Meeting There will be a talk/discussion about the Perranporth site which has been postponed from the March meeting.
There being no further business the meeting was closed at 8.30
Graham Phipps intro to XC Flying After the meeting Phippsy gave a talk on XC flying to make things easier for pilots looking to make the break from hill flying to XC. Practical aspects of these topics were covered:

• Do’s & don’ts
• Going for it
• Thermalling techniques
