How to get there: Take A3074 to St Ives from the Hayle side. then turn right onto Church lane just before the start of the built up area of Carbis bay.

Vehicle Access & Parking: Parking is limited so car share if possible. Small lay by area where several vehicles can park if pilots are considerate. Then a couple of small “pull ins” further down the lane. Be aware the blocking of gateways or parking opposite them may give problems for future site use.

Rules and Restrictions: Strictly KHPA members and associated guests. There is a combination lock on the gateway the code is available to KHPA members on request, close the gate securely behind you. Only fly when we have permission to do so. Some of the locals are touchy about over flying properties so please be considerate.

Take off: Straight forward from front of field. May need a bit of a run to ensure clearance of hidden fence in growth. Hang Gliders beware of sudden lift band in breezier conditions, keep trimmed in.

Top Landing: Straight forward at rear of field but beware of hedge behind in breezier conditions. Paragliders can lad quite near the front in lighter winds.

Bottom Landing: Big Beach when tide out reducing and moving off to the left as tide comes in. Long walk up

Hazards: Turbulence at launch in breezier conditions. No slope landing below take off deep growth and railway line.

XC Tips: Can be thermic mainly in the colder months. Site record Lands End (HG). Penzance (PG)

General Tips: When conditions are good flights can be made around to ST Ives and back and towards Hayle over the low dunes and back. in summer months light wave flying maybe experienced giving smooth flying up to 1500 or more
