Height Top to Bottom:130 feet

How to get there: Take the B3301 between Hayle and Portreath then turn off to the National Trust Godrevy Car Park and the hill is on your right.

Vehicle Access & Parking: Use the National Trust Carpark at Godrevy and it is a short walk to the site. Please take care when climbing over the gate into the site using the hinged end to avoid damage.

Rules and Restrictions: The site is used for rare cattle breads and whilst the farmer is very hospitable to us respect and avoid the livestock.

Whilst Flying:

  • Do not unnecessarily hang around above peoples properties.

  • Respect people’s privacy and do not take photos of their properties.

  • Do not eject any material into any properties.

  • Do not shout down to any members of the public regardless of provocation.

Guidelines: Godrevy looks like an ideal slope soaring site and on the right day it is but on thermic days it can be very turbulent and should be treated with respect. During wet weather the bottom landing can become waterlogged. There are a large number of rabbit holes over the area and the surface can give way due the rabbits burrowing causing trips and hazards. please respect any livestock that is in the field.

Rigging Notes: There is plenty of space for rigging both at the bottom and at the top. be considerate to other fliers

Marshalling: Use common sense and consideration for others.

Launch Notes: Watch for other pilots launching or landing or approaching to land.

Top Landing Notes: No real hazards although the land becomes uneven the further back you go .

Bottom Landing Notes: Undulating terrain, rabbit holes and unpredictable lift on thermic days.

Hazards: Turbulence on thermic conditions. Helicopter activity and occasional use by Radio Control Gliders.

XC Tips: Can give some good thermalling, XC potential is upwind or crosswind to the East due to proximity of the sea behind. Current record Treswithien vis Paraglider.
