Altitude: 300 feet

Height Top to Bottom: 300 feet

How to get there: head to Gorran Haven then go up Lamledra Hill on the Southside of the village which will take you to the site. Or use your sat nav.

Vehicle Access & Parking: Please do not park between gates. Use NT car parks at either end it is a 5 to 10 minute walk to take off. You can drive along the road between the gates and drop off or pick up kit if you wish.

The local school does have permission to park on site for safety reasons when operating.

Rules and Restrictions: Livestock frequently on site please do not disturb.

Whilst Flying:

  • Do not unnecessarily hang around above peoples properties.

  • Respect people’s privacy and do not take photos of their properties.

  • Do not eject any material into any properties.

  • Do not shout down to any members of the public regardless of provocation.

Rigging Notes: Keep top landing and overshoot areas clear.

Marshalling: Use common sense and consideration for others. Can all pilots using the site be considerate of others please, and not leave unattended gliders blocking access to the launch. Hang gliders especially require room to manoeuvre along the front to launch

Launch Notes: This site does not fly well when wind is easterly, whilst it may appear to be on the hill check carefully as conditions will be rough and lacking in lift in such conditions.

Top Landing Notes: Straight forward at west end although some wind gradient for Hang Gliders if landing behind brow of hill

Bottom Landing Notes: Long narrow beach at high water improving as tide goes out. land along the beach as it can be reasonably steep towards the sea. Beware of nudists…….

Hazards: Deep growth on Dodman Point and in front of west end launch.

Met Services: Dialmet is available for RAF St. Mawgan and RNAS Culdrose.
