Bulletin February 2015

Hello and welcome (Lowena dhis ha dynnargh dhis).

This month’s KHPA news:

Phippsy & Kaz of Cloud9 feature on BBC Spotlight Southwest.

KHPA’s very own Polperro Pilot gets a mauling from two Wedge Tailed Eagles on Mount Baldwin, Australia!

Phippsy prepares this month for the 20th FAI Hang Gliding World Championships at Valle de Bravo, Mexico.

Editors comments:

This months bulletin sees KHPA news from both sides of the world. There’s also another excellent article from club stalwart Adie C and Steve Mc has put forward an interesting take on the Pilot Profile, although one of his proposed questions (name your favourite voyeur site?) doesn’t really fit into my mandate for a wholesome family minded bulletin. Finally, joking aside (see Club Chat), I’m sure I speak for all club members in wishing Phippsy the very best of luck in the upcoming prestigious free flying world cup event and a safe return.

World News:

Hunter Marrian of Paraglide Kenya has flown a 211km out-and-return flight on a tandem from Nyaru in Kenya’s Rift Valley on 29 January 2015, which if ratified could break two FAI World records.

Storm activity  helped swell Gunnedah Publicans’ coffers in N.S.W. Australia as International Paraglider Pilots decided to play it safe and land near the town to have a decent pub lunch.
